Out with old, in with the new

I held on to dear life with my Ipod headset. I used it religiously as I do my running shoes. Slowly but surely it began falling apart. I knew it was time to invest in another pair and I knew what I needed in a new headset primarily since I used them for working out.

R.I.P. Ipod bud. 12/08 - 01/10

Without much thought into it, I knew I needed the following:

  1. Waterproof - Even perfect people sweat.

  2. Long cord - To avoid pulling out as I ran.

  3. Noise cancellation - I hate hearing cars honk at me when I'm in the road.

  4. Clear sound - My sweat muffled and distorted sound in the left bud of my Ipod headset. I wanted to hear music.

  5. Price - Anything under $50

  6. Good reviews
What I found that matched my description perfectly were Sennheiser's cx 380 which I purchased from B&H Photo. I've tested them for a month and I couldn't be happier.

The sound is dynamic as it says on the website. There is bass but not the piercing bass that you get from purchasing cheap buds. I will be brutally honest with you. I sweat in sheets when I run and the cx 380 remains in place when using the cable clip. This was a perfect match for me.
