Being a mother has it's ups and downs. In the last few weeks, my oldest has learned to spell: her name, mom, dad, and a few other misc. words. It is another proud moment for us. I started her early teaching her to memorize our phone numbers too. She has 'grandpa's', mine, the SO, 'nana's', and 911 memorized to a t. She's drawing pictures with stories, putting on her own clothes, looking both ways when crossing a street, to reading me books during long road trips. Being a mother is wonderful.
Other mornings like today, it is not so wonderful. The first thing you want to hear when you go to their rooms to wake them up is my favorite, three little words, "I hate you." Okay, so it is certainly not my favorite phrase. It hurts me so bad it makes me feel like I'm the worst scum in the entire universe. As cute as my bobblehead Shea is, she is a fireball. Temper like her daddy turns her into a monster like no other.
If you ask me how my morning was, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. Parenting is never easy. The SO even brought up that we should each take a child and do something for a day and meet up afterwards for dinner. I agree there is a bond that me and my daughter is lacking. I think it is a brilliant idea to take time apart from eachother. The SO has plans to take Aleyzia on a princess scavenger hunt. Hiding little gems and sparkly toys at a park for her to find. I have yet to plan out my adventure with Shea. Whatever plan I come up with, I want her to wake up the following morning saying, "I love you, mommy." Then I'd know my day was right.
If you have any thoughts or ideas as to what I can do with my almost 3 year old, please leave a comment below. All ideas are appreciated.
Have a great day!

One mother I worked with made it a ritual to go and get her nails done with her daughter as soon as they were old enough.
I think it might be nice to go to lunch or to a movie (btw, I loved The Princess and the Frog). It might be fun to establish a ritual that is just for that girl and one for just the other one.
my two cents!
love the beach picture. Life's a beach!
